When I was eight years old I got a dummy for Christmas and started teaching myself. I got books and records and sat in front of the bathroom mirror practising. I did my first show in the third grade and just kept going there was no reason to quit.

Third we will make trade work for America by forging new trade agreements. And when nations cheat in trade there will be unmistakable consequences.

In order for a war to be just three things are necessary. First the authority of the sovereign. Secondly a just cause. Thirdly a rightful intention.

I do not believe that civilization will be wiped out in a war fought with the atomic bomb. Perhaps two-thirds of the people of the earth will be killed.

All truth passes through three stages. First it is ridiculed. Second it is violently opposed. Third it is accepted as being self-evident.

Whoever places his trust into a system will soon be without a home. While you are building your third story the two lower ones have already been dismantled.

If you travel around America you see different sections of highways donated by this or that person and that's a slow beginning of what may end up being a situation common in the Third World: some sections of highways in wealthy areas are beautifully maintained and other parts are just dirt-strewn potholes.

My writing is a combination of three elements. The first is travel: not travel like a tourist but travel as exploration. The second is reading literature on the subject. The third is reflection.

After a lifetime of world travel I've been fascinated that those in the third world don't have the same perception of reality that we do.

The first time you say something it's heard. The second time it's recognized and the third time it's learned.
