The war on terror if this is a war on terror can only be won by a sincere regional and international cooperation. All have to believe they have something at stake and work together. In the absence of this it will become political and interest-oriented.

Mr. Speaker the Delaware River deepening project is important for my constituents for our region and for the entire nation. I trust that when they examine the facts about it every one of my colleagues will join me in supporting it.

The growth of Stewart Airport creates new jobs for area residents brings new business and new travelers to the region and brings new convenient travel options to those of us living in the Hudson Valley.

The idea is to have global standards. There is so much travel that if you just had a regional standard it would probably ultimately have to be changed.

What we're doing is making sure that we have a safe and secure border region from San Diego all the way to Brownsville. And that means manpower it means technology it means infrastructure it means interior enforcement. All you know kind of layered in appropriate ways and making sure like I said before the border is safe and secure.

Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process.

I think that we had a different view of what the 21st century could be like with much more of a sense from our perspective of trying to have an interdependent world: looking at solving regional conflicts having strength in alliances operating within some kind of a sense that we were part of the international community and not outside of it.

My policy was just to give good things for sports in my region.

It is time for the world the hemisphere and the region to make sure that relevant institutions of civil society and relevant laws are embedded in the mechanisms of governance.
