As women we have more of a tendency to be people-pleasers and I know a lot of women who are not vocal about what makes them happy.

A psychologist once told me that for a boy being in the middle of a conflict between two women is the worst possible situation. There's always a desire to please each one.

If you were to offer a thirsty man all wisdom you would not please him more than if you gave him a drink.

God has been pleased to save us during the years of war that have already passed. We pray that He may be pleased to save us to the end. But we must do our part.

It is possible to be a master in false philosophy easier in fact than to be a master in the truth because a false philosophy can be made as simple and consistent as one pleases.

There are few things in which we deceive ourselves more than in the esteem we profess to entertain for our firends. It is little better than a piece of quackery. The truth is we think of them as we please that is as they please or displease us.
