I remember when the wave of Jennifer Lopez Salma Hayek and these beautiful Hispanic women came into light and I looked up to them and I loved them but I was like 'Where are Middle Eastern women?'

When I found out I had to take off my shirt in 'Teen' movie I panicked and hit the gym. I was like 'It's going to be on film documented for my children to see. I can't be 140 pounds. I need to put on a little bit of muscle.'

I had no doubts I could go to the pole. I may not be as strong but I make up for physical strength in other areas like steadiness and not panicking under stress.

I've always thought of acting as a tool to change society. I watch a lot of actors and I see panic in their eyes because they don't know why they act and I know why I act. Whether I'm a good or a bad actor I know why I do it.
