UNICEF has repeatedly called on governments to ensure basic services for children and this includes providing food where the need exists.

Their life is about getting enough money to put food on the table to feed their children and that's it.

We must oppose programs that would take food from the mouths of younger generations to buy prescription drugs for old people and we must do it... for the children.

Contaminated food is a major cause of diarrhea substantially contributing to malnutrition and killing about 2.2 million people each year most of them children.

Most schools have only a microwave or deep fryer hardly the tools needed to feed our children real fresh food.

We need a grassroots movement and government policies and programs to change the food landscape and the built environment to give our children a chance to have happy healthy successful lives.

A few years ago kids from poor areas in France were asked to draw items of food. For a chicken they drew a drumstick. For a fish they drew a fish stick. Those are extremes but there is a lot that needs to be done to help children discover good food.

My quest these days is to find my long lost inner child but I'm afraid if I do I'll end up with food in my hair and way too in love with the cats.

This June I'll travel once again to the Food and Wine Magazine Classic in Aspen Colorado. For many years my dear friend Julia Child and I have teamed up to teach classes together at the event for the past seven years my daughter Claudine has been my cooking partner on stage.
