I sat with him for three hours and we did not exchange a single word. At the end he handed me as he had done before an envelope with money in it. It would have been much nicer if he had enclosed a greeting or a loving word. I would have been so pleased if he had.

Money is a good thing and it's obviously useful but to work only for money or fame would never interest me.

I don't know what your childhood was like but we didn't have much money. We'd go to a movie on a Saturday night then on Wednesday night my parents would walk us over to the library. It was such a big deal to go in and get my own book.

If there's something that can be formulated regulated give you security then nobody would lose money. Every movie would be successful. And that's certainly not the case.

Ridiculous yachts and private planes and big limousines won't make people enjoy life more and it sends out terrible messages to the people who work for them. It would be so much better if that money was spent in Africa - and it's about getting a balance.

Money is not a motivating factor. Money doesn't thrill me or make me play better because there are benefits to being wealthy. I'm just happy with a ball at my feet. My motivation comes from playing the game I love. If I wasn't paid to be a professional footballer I would willingly play for nothing.

Who would you want to be giving you advice? Somebody who doesn't have any money?

If you really believe that you're making a difference and that you can leave a legacy of better schools and jobs and safer streets why would you not spend the money? The objective is to improve the schools bring down crime build affordable housing clean the streets - not to have a fair fight.

The idea that a congressman would be tainted by accepting money from private industry or private sources is essentially a socialist argument.
