My father was a member of the Teamsters Union in California where he helped to organize better health care for workers. My mother worked for more than 20 years on an assembly line.

I was for civil unions and believed strongly that the flow of benefits and protections that would be provided in a civil union for same-sex couples the decisions that have to be made when health hardships are faced when economic hardships are faced I wanted all of those protections. I never strayed from them.

Most of the State of the Union will not be about Iraq. Most of the State of the Union will be about improving America's economy and providing greater access to health care for millions of American people including senior citizens.

As the President reviewed the state of the union and unveiled his second-term agenda he fell short of adequately explaining how he intends to set America back on the course of fiscal responsibility and secure the fiscal health of the nation.

All the evidence shows very clearly that if you are a member of a trade union you are likely to get better pay more equal pay better health and safety more chance to get training more chance to have conditions of work that help if you have caring responsibilities... the list goes on!

They said it was impossible to touch the third rail of politics to take on public-sector unions and to reform a pension and health benefits system that was headed to bankruptcy. But with bipartisan leadership we saved taxpayers $132 billion dollars over 30 years and saved retirees their pensions. We did it.

The sexes were made for each other and only in the wise and loving union of the two is the fullness of health and duty and happiness to be expected.

My whole working philosophy is that the only stable happiness for mankind is that it shall live married in blessed union to woman-kind - intimacy physical and psychical between a man and his wife. I wish to add that my state of bliss is by no means perfect.

At the end of four years' time at graduation we were down to 12. At our reunion that we had several years ago only 1 out of the 52 actually made it to ordination and priesthood. So there you go there's your numbers.
