Americans have so far put up with inequality because they felt they could change their status. They didn't mind others being rich as long as they had a path to move up as well. The American Dream is all about social mobility in a sense - the idea that anyone can make it.

Men may change their climate but they cannot change their nature. A man that goes out a fool cannot ride or sail himself into common sense.

I have always argued that change becomes stressful and overwhelming only when you've lost any sense of the constancy of your life. You need firm ground to stand on. From there you can deal with that change.

A sense of blessedness comes from a change of heart not from more blessings.

It is often when night looks darkest it is often before the fever breaks that one senses the gathering momentum for change when one feels that resurrection of hope in the midst of despair and apathy.

The world we see that seems so insane is the result of a belief system that is not working. To perceive the world differently we must be willing to change our belief system let the past slip away expand our sense of now and dissolve the fear in our minds.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it move with it and join the dance.

I will argue that in the literal sense the programmed computer understands what the car and the adding machine understand namely exactly nothing.

Mayors could never get away with the kind of nonsense that goes on in Washington. In our world you either picked up the trash or you didn't. You either moved an abandoned car or you didn't. You either filled a pothole or you didn't. That's what we do every day. And we know how to get this stuff done.

With all the hybrid stuff and things like that I think that's a fabulous direction to go with cars in that sense. As someone who grew up around muscle cars I'll never not be able to not love a muscle car. Not that I don't care about the environment that's not it. But I adore muscle cars.
