I've been asked to do action-oriented movies in the past and they just haven't been right for me.

I've been on so many movies. Generally I haven't gotten to be on the ground level. As of two years ago in 'Dear John ' I got to really be on the ground floor. I wasn't a producer. I felt like I put the work in and I did have a lot of sway on what got fixed reshoots so on and so forth. It felt really good.

There's this index that tallies up how much your movies have made and if they haven't grossed a certain amount then you're not bankable. I know I'm not Will Smith but you know my ranking's pretty low. The only studio picture I've done is 'Zodiac ' and that didn't perform that well.

I've done movies with a sword before. But I haven't really been given the full responsibility of something like a Ridley Scott film.

I haven't deliberately set out to play the blonde bombshell in my movies. In fact it's probably been quite the opposite. After the success of The Mask I wasn't offered all that many blonde bombshell parts to be honest. I think people believed from the beginning that I could actually walk and talk at the same time.

Oh I have this feud going with the L.A. Unified School District because I keep getting these phone calls saying my daughter keeps missing classes I mean at all hours of the night I had like two calls this morning and I keep calling saying I haven't got a daughter!

What I had said in the morning was that this is what we know has happened but there has been no significant off-site release. Only to find out moments later that in fact there had been an off-site release. I still haven't gotten over that.

I didn't wake up one morning and not be in the Replacements. We're all that forever and I've just grown older. I mean I haven't lost anything. I've gained a few things.

Well I needed the work - that's the honest answer. I haven't worked for a while a couple of years. So I thought it would be nice to get back to work and earn some money.

It's good to have money and the things that money can buy but it's good too to check up once in a while and make sure that you haven't lost the things that money can't buy.
