If there is such a thing as good leadership it is to give a good example. I have to do so for all the Ikea employees.

Example is leadership.

The word of God is full of sad and grave counsel full of the knowledge of God of examples of virtues and of correction of vices of the end of this life and of the life to come.

For example I spent a lot of time with Reagan both before he ran for governor and when he was running for president. As a print reporter without the cameras I was able to really test the quality of their minds and their knowledge base.

Learn from me if not by my precepts then by my example how dangerous is the pursuit of knowledge and how much happier is that man who believes his native town to be the world than he who aspires to be greater than his nature will allow.

To me it's far more efficient to mobilize the imagination. It's far more efficient to hear a creaking step for example than to see the face of a monster which usually looks ridiculous and where you know that the blood is ketchup.

Imagine for yourself a character a model personality whose example you determine to follow in private as well as in public.

I hope that through my example such as my role on 'The West Wing ' I can help change attitudes on deafness and prove we can really do everything... except hear.

In motivating people you've got to engage their minds and their hearts. I motivate people I hope by example - and perhaps by excitement by having productive ideas to make others feel involved.
