For as long as the power of America's diversity is diminished by acts of discrimination and violence against people just because they are black Hispanic Asian Jewish Muslim or gay we still must overcome.

The only thing that white people have that black people need or should want is power-and no one holds power forever.

The power of the white world is threatened whenever a black man refuses to accept the white world's definitions.

Black Power is giving power to people who have not had power to determine their destiny.

But you see our society is still trapped in this binary black/white logic and that has had some very positive implications for our generation. It's had some very negative ones as well and one of the negative ones is that it creates enormous identity problems for people who have one black ancestor and all white ancestors for example.

When I was a kid no one would believe anything positive that you could say about black people. That's a terrible burden.

I do not expect the white media to create positive black male images.

The only politics in this country that's relevant to black people today is the politics of revolution... none other.

The larger meaning here is that mainstream journalists simply cannot talk about things that the two parties agree on this is the black hole of American politics.

I think one of the most threatening places to be in politics is a black conservative because there are so many liberals who want to continue to reinforce a stereotype that doesn't exist about America.
