Let us build a 21st-century rural economy of cutting-edge companies and technologies that lead us to energy and food security. Such an investment will revitalize rural America re-establish our moral leadership on climate security and eliminate our addiction to foreign oil.

I know what I don't know. To this day I don't know technology and I don't know finance or accounting.

For any new technology there is always controversy and there always some fear associated with it. I think that's just the price of being first sometimes.

Thus after finishing high school I started with high expectations and enthusiasm to study chemistry at the famous Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich.

The facts of science are real enough and so are the techniques that scientists use and so are the technologies based on them. But the belief system that governs conventional scientific thinking is an act of faith.

The age of innocent faith in science and technology may be over.
