Somewhere between 50 to 60 percent of the food you eat has been touched by immigrant hands and it is fair to say some of them are not here as they should be here. But if you didn't have these folks you would be spending a lot more - three four or five times more - for food or we would have to import food and have all the food security risks.

The interesting thing is while we die of diseases of affluence from eating all these fatty meats our poor brethren in the developing world die of diseases of poverty because the land is not used now to grow food grain for their families.

I think people are smart enough to sort it out. They know when they're watching one of these food fight shows where journalists sit around and yell and scream at each other versus serious issue reporting.

Listen - of course money changes everything but so does sunlight and so does food: These are powerful but neutral energy sources neither inherently good nor evil but shaped only by the way we use them.

Animals that we eat are raised for food in the most economical way possible and the serious food producers do it in the most humane way possible. I think anyone who is a carnivore needs to understand that meat does not originally come in these neat little packages.

Chicken fat beef fat fish fat fried foods - these are the foods that fuel our fat genes by giving them raw materials for building body fat.

The main thing is that it's nice to see these young people - 9 to 14 years old - take the opportunity to get more involved in their health and fitness. We need more kids to be more active.

In the midst of these hard times it is our good health and good sleep that are enjoyable.

The more anxious isolated and time-deprived we are the more likely we are to turn to paid personal services. To finance these extra services we work longer hours. This leaves less time to spend with family friends and neighbors we become less likely to call on them for help and they on us.
