World War II ended the Great Depression with one of the great public-private industrial collaborations in the history of man.

For at the same time many people seem eager to extend the circle of our moral consideration to animals in our factory farms and laboratories we are inflicting more suffering on more animals than at any time in history.

We can't understand when we're pregnant or when our siblings are expecting how profound it is to have a shared history with a younger generation: blood genes humor. It means we were actually here on Earth for a time - like the Egyptians with their pyramids only with children.

My generation of bossy confident baby-boom women were something brand new in history. Our energy and assertiveness weren't created by Betty Friedan unknown before her 1963 book or by Gloria Steinem whose political activism as even the Lifetime profile admitted did not begin until 1969.

It's a struggle but that's why we exist so that another generation of Lesbians of color will not have to invent themselves or their history all over again.

All in all for someone who was immersed in fascinated by and dedicated to flight I was disappointed by the wrinkle in history that had brought me along one generation late. I had missed all the great times and adventures in flight.

That's all a man can hope for during his lifetime - to set an example - and when he is dead to be an inspiration for history.

We wonder if we will be the first generation in American history to leave our children with fewer opportunities and a less prosperous nation than the one we inherited.

I think documentaries are the greatest way to educate an entire generation that doesn't often look back to learn anything about the history that provided a safe haven for so many of us today.
