Yes. I think the anti-Wal-Mart is Costco which pays much better and has much better health benefits and which is profitable and offers low prices.
The most common objection that I hear to walking as exercise is that it's too easy that only sweaty strenuous activity offers real benefits. But there is abundant evidence that regular brisk walking is associated with better health including lower blood pressure better moods and improved cholesterol ratios.
We need better neighbors neighbors that care about the schools in their neighborhood whether they have kids in them or not because they know that the health and vitality of that neighborhood depends on it.
All the evidence shows very clearly that if you are a member of a trade union you are likely to get better pay more equal pay better health and safety more chance to get training more chance to have conditions of work that help if you have caring responsibilities... the list goes on!

In societies where mature workers are respected and where their wisdom is respected everybody benefits. Workers are more engaged and productive. Their health is better. They live longer.

Women in particular need to keep an eye on their physical and mental health because if we're scurrying to and from appointments and errands we don't have a lot of time to take care of ourselves. We need to do a better job of putting ourselves higher on our own 'to do' list.
