We've been trained since kindergarten: Be nice be kind share put on a smile. So we're conditioned to squash our natural selfish instincts and that's the right thing for society.

And I thought I would just share with you what science says today about silicone breast implants. If you have them you're healthier than if you don't. In fact there's no science that shows that silicone breast implants are detrimental and in fact they make you healthier.

That science has long been neglected and declining in England is not an opinion originating with me but is shared by many and has been expressed by higher authority than mine.

We're as clever as we think we are but we'll be a lot cleverer when we learn to use not just one brain but to pool huge numbers of brains. We're at a level technologically where we can share information and think collectively about our problems. We do it in science all the time - there's no reason why we can't do it in other endeavors.

Ooh it's too embarrassing to share my innermost romantic secrets - although I have written Danielle the odd poem. If anything they are more comedic than romantic. They used to be well-received but that was before she started studying Shakespeare at drama college. Now I feel so inept.

I don't expect to win every battle but I think Fred Pierce has enough respect for me that I can go fight my battles and win my share.

Of course the plea for respect for nonhuman life goes far beyond the scientific delight of familiarity with our planet mates. The nonhuman forms of life with which we 6 000 million talking upright apes share this finite planet are directly or indirectly connected to our well-being.

With respect to Barack Obama let's face it Barack Obama is an iconic figure in the African-American community. We respect that. We understand that. African-Americans are going to vote for the first black president especially when he happens to share the liberal politics on economic issues that many in that community hold.

I leave CNN with the utmost respect love and admiration for the company and everyone who works here. This has been my family and shared endeavor for the past 27 years and I am forever grateful and proud of all that we have accomplished.

You can't tell your kids to read if you're just watching television. They have to see you read. And in that respect I think it's important to walk the walk. It's a wonderful shared time.
