Imagination is not only the uniquely human capacity to envision that which is not and therefore the fount of all invention and innovation. In its arguably most transformative and revelatory capacity it is the power to that enables us to empathize with humans whose experiences we have never shared.

If one seeks to analyze experiences and reactions to the first postwar years I hope one may say without being accused of bias that it is easier for the victor than for the vanquished to advocate peace.

I have learned from my experiences in this industry that there is absolutely no way to control people's opinions on your performance in your movie. You go out there promote your film and hope people like the work you did.

My hope is that I will take the good from my experiences and extrapolate them further into areas with which I am unfamiliar. I simply do not know exactly what that difference will be in my judging. But I accept there will be some based on my gender and my Latina heritage.

I hope that as the Senate and American people learn more about me they will see that I am an ordinary person who has been blessed with extraordinary opportunities and experiences.

The human body experiences a powerful gravitational pull in the direction of hope. That is why the patient's hopes are the physician's secret weapon. They are the hidden ingredients in any prescription.

I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life.

I want to state upfront unequivocally and without doubt: I do not believe that any racial ethnic or gender group has an advantage in sound judging. I do believe that every person has an equal opportunity to be a good and wise judge regardless of their background or life experiences.

To the citizens of Israel I say: we have passed difficult years faced the most painful experiences and overcame them. The future lies before us. We are required to take difficult and controversial steps but we must not miss the opportunity to try to achieve what we have wished for for so many years: security tranquillity and peace.

The impressions of the spriritual experiences gave my future life its form and content.
