We've been working now with computers and education for 30 years computers in developing countries for 20 years and trying to make low-cost machines for 10 years. This is not a sudden turn down the road.

Computers have become more friendly understandable and lots of years and thought have been put into developing software to convince people that they want and need a computer.

When I launched the development of the GNU system I explicitly said the purpose of developing this system is so we can use our computers and have freedom thus if you use some other free system instead but you have freedom then it's a success. It's not popularity for our code but it's success for our goal.

Even in the developing parts of the world kids take to computers like fish to water.

Countries such as the U.S. and Britain have taken it upon themselves to decide for us in the developing world even to interfere in our domestic affairs and to bring about what they call regime change.

We go through the whole season working on next season's car and developing the car and making sure we fit in the car and all that sort of stuff. And we obviously give ideas of what we would hope next year's car would have even if it's small things like buttons on the steering wheel and different positions and whatever.

I'd do pretty much anything to get back on stage. I'd like to develop a new musical. I nearly had a heart attack when I heard that they're developing John Waters' Cry-Baby because that is so amazing and super and wonderful and I wish that I could be involved. But it's not the right time and I understand that. But I hear things like that and I get that little tingle in my stomach.
