You know bad poetry I wrote in high school can still be found on the Internet and you know there's a Web log of our college newspaper. You know there's so many different stages of my creative development are sort of on-record if somebody were to choose to look for them.

I've been composing music all my life and if I'd been clever enough at school I would like to have gone to music college.

Like anyone who goes to college you're leaving a familiar surrounding and a comfortable environment and your friends and everything and you're starting fresh. It can be pretty daunting.

By going to the movies and because of other things too going to college making a wide variety of friends moving around traveling I became a lot more open-minded than the heritage I was born into might have suggested.

I hated high school. Ugh. I couldn't wait until it was over so I could sleep in. In college I made sure all my classes were in the afternoon. I hated getting up in the morning.
