The older I get the greater power I seem to have to help the world I am like a snowball - the further I am rolled the more I gain.

I learned a good deal about economics and about America from the author of the Reagan tax reforms - the great Jack Kemp. What gave Jack that incredible enthusiasm was his belief in the possibilities of free people in the power of free enterprise and strong communities to overcome poverty and despair. We need that same optimism right now.

Democracy shows not only its power in reforming governments but in regenerating a race of men and this is the greatest blessing of free governments.

Use power to help people. For we are given power not to advance our own purposes nor to make a great show in the world nor a name. There is but one just use of power and it is to serve people.

Conceit spoils the finest genius. There is not much danger that real talent or goodness will be overlooked long even if it is the consciousness of possessing and using it well should satisfy one and the great charm of all power is modesty.

I don't have a set of tenets but I live an ethical life. I practice a humility that presupposes there's a power greater than myself. And I always believe don't inflict harm where it's not necessary.
