I think computer viruses should count as life. I think it says something about human nature that the only form of life we have created so far is purely destructive. We've created life in our own image.

The first work of the director is to set a mood so that the actor's work can take place so that the actor can create. And in order to do that you have to communicate communicate with the actors. And direction is about communication on all levels.

Just as characteristic perhaps is the intellectual interdependence created through the development of the modern media of communication: post telegraph telephone and popular press.

I think it's fair to say that personal computers have become the most empowering tool we've ever created. They're tools of communication they're tools of creativity and they can be shaped by their user.

What creates freedom? A revolution in the streets? Mass protest? Civil war? A change of government? The ousting of the old guard and its replacement by the new? History more often than not shows that hopes raised by such events are often dashed sooner rather than later.

If left unchecked global change will create violent conflict torrential storms shrinking coastlines and irreversible catastrophe.

Revolutions demand enormous sacrifices and at the same time create a new need to change the world again.
