I think the greatest amount of pressure is the pressure I place on myself. So in a way I chose to be alone.
I think I jump around more when I'm alone.
Still and all why bother? Here's my answer. Many people need desperately to receive this message: I feel and think much as you do care about many of the things you care about although most people do not care about them. You are not alone.
I have never found a companion that was so companionable as solitude. We are for the most part more lonely when we go abroad among men than when we stay in our chambers. A man thinking or working is always alone let him be where he will.
We allow our ignorance to prevail upon us and make us think we can survive alone alone in patches alone in groups alone in races even alone in genders.
I do think I feel it but you don't think you are cause at a certain time you are no age but you don't think you are anything. You feel the life you have lived. I feel that. It's been a long fifty years.
I'd always thought the Rats were good fun but one of the very nice things about being of Saga age is that I can actually look back and think When I was younger I was in a great band. It was always a collective thing.
I think the most exciting thing is that you expect people our age to know the music but actually a lot of kids know the music and if anything is left we have left really good music and that's the important part not the mop-tops or whatever.
We tend to think of age only in time but I don't think it has much to do with time at all there's a whole load of other things. I've met 16-year-olds who are old and 90-year-olds who are young.
To be perfectly honest I think that as I'm growing older I'm just growing more impatient. I'll be very happy if at some point people say 'Michael's grown wiser and softer in his old age.' But we'll have to wait and see what my next project is.
