We talked about many issues like welfare is it the way of life or hand up? Talked about size of government how much should it tax families and small businesses? And when we left that lunch we got in the car and I looked over at Chuck and said 'I'll be damned. we're Republicans.'

I grew up in Texas and people love their American-made muscle cars there. I grew up around people who loved cars and took care of cars and my dad's a big car nut so I learned a little bit about cars - how to love them most importantly. I think that from the time I could remember I've always envisioned myself in a vintage muscle car.

With all the hybrid stuff and things like that I think that's a fabulous direction to go with cars in that sense. As someone who grew up around muscle cars I'll never not be able to not love a muscle car. Not that I don't care about the environment that's not it. But I adore muscle cars.

When you read about a car crash in which two or three youngsters are killed do you pause to dwell on the amount of love and treasure and patience parents poured into bodies no longer suitable for open caskets?

I think we've been dulled by capitalism. We're just blobs now - we're so worried about how we can keep paying the lease on the car the mortgage the lease on the toaster and all that. You can't really think about much else. If you lose that you lose the whole lot.

The culture is going into a psychological depression. We are concerned about our place in the world about being competitive: Will my children have as much as I have? Will I ever own my own home? How can I pay for a new car? Are immigrants taking away my white world?

I started rapping before anybody had ever bought a car from it. It was truly about the art form and the culture more so than now where it's a successful way to make money. Back then you had to be doing it because you liked it.

I enjoy racing historic motorcars from the '50s and '60s. The seed of my interest was planted when I was about 12 years old and took over my mother's Morris Minor. I drove it around my father's farm. But my favorite car is still a McLaren F1 which I have had for 10 years.
