I would say that no film is apolitical. There are politics in all films. Any film that is anchored in a society any film that deals with humanity is necessarily political.

You have to take away some of tax breaks for the wealthy and you have to cut back on some entitlements. Because unless we do all of these things it just doesn't work. And what's good theater and what's good politics isn't necessarily good economic policy.

Conservatives are not necessarily stupid but most stupid people are conservatives.

As civilization advances poetry almost necessarily declines.

What counts is not necessarily the size of the dog in the fight - it's the size of the fight in the dog.

Politics is too partisan and sometimes patriotism is cast aside. Patriotism is honor and love of your country and your brothers and sisters. With politics I get the impression that it's all about what's good for the party and not necessarily what's good for the country.

What I was going for in the first two albums I didn't necessarily achieve. Because I was young and because it was my first time out. And the second album was such a 'quickie' sort of 'Let's just get it over with!' But the kind of music I make there's a lot of subtlety in it. And I think it takes a couple of listens to actually really get it.

I'm a Cancerian the typical crab with the tough outer shell and the soft bit in the middle. I don't think I'll ever come to terms with people being unnecessarily nasty but I can take it if someone doesn't like my music - I'm not everyone's cup of tea.

So there's no guarantee if you like the music you will empathize with the culture and the people who made it. It doesn't necessarily happen. I think it can but it doesn't necessarily happen. Which is kind of a shame.

Avant-garde music is sort of research music. You're glad someone's done it but you don't necessarily want to listen to it.
