I genuinely don't feel that anything that's been written or said about me has overshadowed my music and that's the most important thing as far as I'm concerned.

Music is hugely important to me.

Country music is important to me and I love it but it's not my whole life.

I think it's important for people who love music to retain physical CDs or even vinyl because it sounds so great and so much warmer than music over the internet.

People always try to find my agenda but I don't really have one. It's safe to say that I make pop but I think that I'm doing important music too. I've just always done what I wanted to do.

The lyrics are constructed as empirically as the music. I don't set out to say anything very important.

For me the visual is just as important as the music.

Musicians are there in front of you and the spectators sense their tension which is not the case when you're listening to a record. Your attention is more relaxed. The emotional aspect is more important in live music.

I don't profess to have music as my big wheel and there are a number of other things as important to me apart from music. Theatre and mime for instance.

I think the most important thing about music is the sense of escape.
