I started getting into Internet technologies and computers. I wasn't especially interested in being a musician but I wound up finding my way back to being interested in music through computers.
I like computers. I like the Internet. It's a tool that can be used. But don't be misled into thinking that these technologies are anything other than aspects of a degenerate economic system.
What I try to do is factor in how people use computers what people's problems are and how these technologies can get applied to those problems. Then I try to direct the various product groups to act on this information.
One of the advantages of moving quickly is if you do something wrong you can change it. What technologies tend to do is they tend to make a lot of mistakes... but then we go back and aggressively attack those mistakes - and fix them. And you usually recover pretty quickly.
With the never-ending stream of new social technologies apps and platforms rolling out every day its easy to get lost in the minutiae of social media. Yet for there to be effective change especially within large top-down hierarchical institutions a company must have an over-arching understanding of the new role it has to play.
Physics does not change the nature of the world it studies and no science of behavior can change the essential nature of man even though both sciences yield technologies with a vast power to manipulate the subject matters.
As a speaker business leader or marketer of any type the onus is now on each of us to become equally capable of communicating very personally with a seemingly endless number of people connected by social technologies.
