I have in sincerity pledged myself to your service as so many of you are pledged to mine. Throughout all my life and with all my heart I shall strive to be worthy of your trust.

If we put our trust in the common sense of common men and 'with malice toward none and charity for all' go forward on the great adventure of making political economic and social democracy a practical reality we shall not fail.

Only trust thyself and another shall not betray thee.

I was afterwards sorry for this though if I ever travel again I shall trust to none but natives as the climate of Africa is too trying to foreigners.

Shall we ever see the 10 million things of the universe simultaneously in order to be the all? I am convinced that to live is to travel towards the world's end.

Not only does travel give us a new system of reckoning it also brings to the fore unknown aspects of our own self. Our consciousness being broadened and enriched we shall judge ourselves more correctly.

The proper function of man is to live not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.

The long time to come when I shall not exist has more effect on me than this short present time which nevertheless seems endless.

Islam expect every Muslim to do this duty and if we realise our responsibility time will come soon when we shall justify ourselves worthy of a glorious past.

We shall never have more time. We have and always had all the time there is. No object is served in waiting until next week or even until tomorrow. Keep going... Concentrate on something useful.
