I think Muslims have become the new Negroes in America. They are being mistreated at airports by the Immigration - everywhere. Islam is a religion of peace. They are wrong.

I've studied various schools of thought... I acknowledge that some Muslims consider music prohibited but I've found a lot of evidence from the life of the Prophet to show that he allowed certainly but even encouraged music at certain times.

I'd love it if American kids were listening to Muslim music.

Does the imam have a legal right to build the mosque at Ground Zero? The answer is yes. But is it the right thing to do? The answer is no. And most Americans and most moderate Muslims join with me in that call.

And if the imam and the Muslim leadership in that community is so intent on building bridges then they should voluntarily move the mosque away from ground zero and move it whether it's uptown or somewhere else but move it away from that area the same as the pope directed the Carmelite nuns to move a convent away from Auschwitz.

But 85 percent of the mosques have extremist leadership in this country. Most Muslims the overwhelming majority of Muslims are loyal Americans.

There is a widespread difficulty in the Muslim world which has to do with how the people are taught about examining their own history. A whole range of stuff has been placed off limits.

Those in the west who dismiss the repressiveness of laws against women in countries like Iran no matter how benign their intentions present a condescending view not just of the religion but also of women living in Muslim majority countries as if the desire for choice and happiness is the monopoly of women in the west.

One of the great strengths of the United States is... we have a very large Christian population - we do not consider ourselves a Christian nation or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation. We consider ourselves a nation of citizens who are bound by ideals and a set of values.

Do not look down upon any Muslim for even the most inferior believer is great in the eyes of God.
