Christianity is not the faith of the complacent the comfortable or of the timid. It demands and creates heroic souls like Wesley Wilberforce Bonhoeffer John Paul the Second and Billy Graham. Each showed in their own way the relentless and powerful influence of the message of Jesus Christ.

You know it shouldn't just be about women as heroic figures overcoming things it just needs to be about women in general getting the opportunity to play a multitude of roles telling a multitude of stories - just to express human experience from a woman's perspective. I hope someday we can get to that point. I'm all about representation.

I think that the romantic impulse is in all of us and that sometimes we live it for a short time but it's not part of a sensible way of living. It's a heroic path and it generally ends dangerously. I treasure it in the sense that I believe it's a path of great courage. It can also be the path of the foolhardy and the compulsive.

Courtesy is a silver lining around the dark clouds of civilization it is the best part of refinement and in many ways an art of heroic beauty in the vast gallery of man's cruelty and baseness.

The reason can only be this: heroic poetry depends on an heroic age and an age is heroic because of what it is not because of what it does.

The balance of private good and general welfare is at the bottom of civilized morals but the morals of the Heroic Age are founded on individuality and on nothing else.

The Border Ballads for instance and the Robin Hood Ballads clearly suppose a state of society which is nothing but a very circumscribed and not very important heroic age.
