During the time men live without a common power to keep them all in awe they are in that conditions called war and such a war as if of every man against every man.

When a person tests positive for HIV it is not a test for the virus itself but for antibodies to the virus and the test is not able to distinguish between HIV antibodies and a multitude of other antibodies. Many conditions can lead to a false positive result including flu shots hepatitis and pregnancy.

For to be poised against fatality to meet adverse conditions gracefully is more than simple endurance it is an act of aggression a positive triumph.

I will not leave a corner of my consciousness covered up but saturate myself with the strange and extraordinary new conditions of this life and it will all refine itself into poetry later on.

And how can poetry stand up against its new conditions? Its position is perfectly precarious.

We recognise in the finished art which is the result of these conditions the best words in the best order - poetry and to put this essential poetry into different classes is impossible.

Poetry always runs away from you - it's very difficult to grasp it and every time you read it depending on your conditions you will have a different grasp of it. Whereas with a novel once you have read it you have grasped it.

One of the gaps in our international development efforts is the provision of global public goods - that is goods or conditions we need that no individual or country can secure on their own such as halting global warming financial stability and peace and security.

Our armed forces will fight for peace in Iraq a peace built on more secure foundations than are found today in the Middle East. Even more important they will fight for two human conditions of even greater value than peace: liberty and justice.

I want to arrive at the possibility of peace with the Syrians and when I believe that the conditions are right I will not miss the opportunity.
