I love inventive food but I want the classic dishes to taste like how I remember them. I get a little bummed out when there is too much fancy stuff going on and it doesn't resemble the original dish at all.
The problem is when that fun stuff becomes the habit. And I think that's what's happened in our culture. Fast food has become the everyday meal.
People love their animals so much so that they put little clothes on them and necklaces and booties and things like that. And if you love your animal then you should feed them something that's not dangerous for them. There's a lot of poisonous stuff that they're putting in a lot of that food those by-products.
Confit is the ultimate comfort food and trendy or not it is dazzling stuff.
I recommend that people try new stuff or take new fitness classes all the time. It's important to mix up your routine not only for your body but also for your mental state.
I think if you exercise your state of mind - my state of mind - is usually more at ease ready for more mental challenges. Once I get the physical stuff out of the way it always seems like I have more calmness and better self-esteem.
I like normal stuff people fear - like spiders and heights. I'm frightened by the unknown by things that are hard to figure out and get a grip on.
My feelings for Ellen overrode all of my fear about being out as a lesbian. I had to be with her and I just figured I'd deal with the other stuff later.
I thought that somehow your life would be much different when you're famous... and it's not. You just buy more stuff.
One of the hardest things for me now that I'm famous is finding people who can read my stuff and give me an honest critique.
