I know I have this level of celebrity of fame international national whatever you want to call it but it's a pretty surreal thing to think sometimes that you're in the middle of another famous person's life and you think to yourself 'How the hell did I get famous? What is this some weird club that we're in?'

There's a definite responsibility that comes with being famous. You shouldn't be able to just dress up and look pretty.

My favorite thing about being famous... it's not really as big of a deal as everybody says it is. Being on the road is tough doing interviews and all the stuff. It's still pretty tough.

I was the youngest of my entire family so you are tap-dancing to try to get the attention of your older cousins. I really hit my social stride in 6th grade but before that I was a pretty big dork. You learn how to be amusing and how to work for it.

What I want to do is tell stories about normal people in the American suburbs. I don't write the book where it's a conspiracy reaching the prime minister I don't write the book with the big serial killer who lops off heads. My setting is a very placid pool of suburbia family life. And within that I can make pretty big splashes.

I think it's been a little difficult at times for the audience because they've told me they see me as a family member. So to see your little sister sing about sex... I think they are pretty used to it now.

I'm not ready to get married but I have a pretty great family and I'd like that too someday.

I did come from a pretty independent-minded family.

I grew up in a family that was multifaceted sexually oriented and pretty much open to everything. And because I was working my friends were all adults. I had a tough time going to different schools because people knew me from films and I was the fat child who got beaten up every day.

Probably the worst time in a person's life is when they have to kill a family member because they are the devil. But otherwise it's been a pretty good day.
