Failure is not a single cataclysmic event. You don't fail overnight. Instead failure is a few errors in judgement repeated every day.

Whatever it is you want to do take a job in that field. You will learn by experience and slow and steady you'll get it done!

Everything is discursive opinion instead of direct experience.

The vision that the founding fathers had of rule of law and equality before the law and no one above the law that is a very viable vision but instead of that we have quasi mob rule.

A commitment to sexual equality with males is a commitment to becoming the rich instead of the poor the rapist instead of the raped the murderer instead of the murdered.

Our work on light bulbs wasn't an arbitrary mandate. We didn't just pick a standard out of the air or look for a catchy sounding standard like 25 by 2025 not based in science or feasibility. Instead we worked with both industry and environmental groups to come up with a standard that made sense and was doable.

We are now heading down a centuries-long path toward increasing the productivity of our natural capital - the resource systems upon which we depend to live - instead of our human capital.

In a finite world this means that the per capita share of the world's goods must steadily decrease.

And I thought that was the best way for me to participate because standing in the crowd and listening is a fantastic education but it's not my nature. I need to be involved. So I did that instead.

But instead of standing up for reason our government is handing education over to the world of faith.
