Freedom cannot be given... It can only be taken away.

Anywhere anytime ordinary people are given the chance to choose the choice is the same: freedom not tyranny democracy not dictatorship the rule of law not the rule of the secret police.

It seems like the sort of archetypal American issue. If you're given the freedom to be anything or be anyone what do you do with it?
