I think somehow men understand other men's need for respect differently than they understand it for a woman. I'm disappointed to have to say that but I think it's undeniably true.
Great authors are admirable in this respect: in every generation they make for disagreement. Through them we become aware of our differences.
I love making new friends and I respect people for a lot of different reasons.
To be one to be united is a great thing. But to respect the right to be different is maybe even greater.
Nations are equal in respect to each other and entitled to claim equal consideration for their rights whatever may be their relative dimensions or strength or however greatly they may differ in government religion or manners.
It doesn't make any difference what religion you are or how young you are or how old you are-if they go to these abortion mills and stand there and pray-that would make a lot of difference.
I have quite a few different Bibles. Having rejected my parents' religion I still think the King James Bible is the most important work of literature in English. None of us can help being influenced by it.
Religion is interesting because it brings out the best and the worst in humanity. It can be a source of good deeds whether it's people from different spiritual backgrounds coming together to help other people in need after a crisis. But it's also a cause for war and bloodshed.
The only difference is that religion is much better organised and has been around much longer but it's the same story with different characters and different costumes.
It appears to be in the nature of religion itself to be prejudiced against those who are different.
