Our work on light bulbs wasn't an arbitrary mandate. We didn't just pick a standard out of the air or look for a catchy sounding standard like 25 by 2025 not based in science or feasibility. Instead we worked with both industry and environmental groups to come up with a standard that made sense and was doable.

Unfortunately the real achievements of children on the ground became debased and devalued because Labor education secretaries sounded like Soviet commissars praising the tractor production figures when we know that those exams were not the rock-solid measures of achievement that children deserve.

No one should be denied the opportunity to get an education and increase their earning potential based solely on their inability to pay for a college education.

I believe that access to a university education should be based on the ability to learn not what people can afford. I think there is no more nauseating a sight than politicians pulling up the ladder of opportunity behind them.

As a proud Catholic I know the impact that faith-based education can have in our society and have witnessed it first hand in my district.

Likewise education can direct people toward good or evil ends. When education is based on a fundamentally distorted worldview the results are horrific.

Health care and education in my view are next up for fundamental software-based transformation.

The idea of being able to serve as an example based upon how to process how to think how to realize our own dreams we can pass that down to our children.

The hoary joke in the literary world based on 'Dreams From My Father ' was that if things had worked out differently for Barack Obama he could have made it as a writer.

We used to talk about wanting to get some money but that's when hip-hop was based on your dreams and your fantasy. The whole thing now is the dreams and fantasies were achieved and you don't want to make it the focal point. You can't keep beating that dead horse.
