Friends can help each other. A true friend is someone who lets you have total freedom to be yourself - and especially to feel. Or not feel. Whatever you happen to be feeling at the moment is fine with them. That's what real love amounts to - letting a person be what he really is.

One important theme is the extent to which one can ever correct an error especially outside any frame of religious forgiveness. All of us have done something we regret - how we manage to remove that from our conscience or whether that's even possible interested me.

Especially for me growing up in such a small town in the middle of nowhere the desire to be away was incredible. I wanted to see new lands meet new people from the city and meet people that were in much less fortunate situations than I was so that I could be more appreciative of my present. At least I had food on the table.

I love England especially the food. There's nothing I like more than a lovely bowl of pasta.

When I want comfort food I buy Maltesers. I like all chocolates but especially those. You can eat them and because they're so light you can convince yourself that they are not actually that fattening.

I would say stay the hell away from the party scene. Anything you put in front of your goal and especially something like that whether it's too much gambling too much food too much cold beers on the weekend - anything that you put in front of the prize is going to end up getting in the way and hurting you in the end.

I think a lot of food shows especially when we started 'Good Eats' back in the late '90s they were still really about food. 'Good Eats' isn't about food it's about entertainment. If however we can virally infect you with knowledge or interest then all the better.

My favorite time of day is to get up and eat leftovers from dinner especially spicy food.

My priority is to turn people - especially kids - on to sports and being active so they don't even have to think about it being good for their health. If people participate for the fun of it and believe me - it is fun then fitness programs will be much more successful.

As the proud father of two teens and past Chairman to the Presidents Council on Physical Fitness and Sports I am committed to educating parents and especially young people on ways to live a long healthy and active life.
