Every country can be defined through their food their music and their language. That's the soul of a country.
Let's keep the chemists over here and the food over here that's my feeling. What do I know? But that is a big aspect of fast food is their ability to artificially taint the colors and the smells and stuff to stimulate appetite.
It is great to add some glamour to the food industry like television shows have done for the food world and inspiring people to work in the industry. The flip side of that is unfortunately people think that after they get their qualifications they get their invitation to compete on 'Top Chef.'
Everyone prefers some foods over others but some adults take this tendency to an extreme. These people tend to prefer the kinds of bland food they may have enjoyed as children - such as plain or buttered pasta macaroni and cheese cheese pizza French fries and grilled cheese sandwiches - and to restrict their eating to just a few dishes.
Food is a fairly significant aspect of my life. I have struggled mightily with food. With my weight. And I'm conscious of it. So I have a sensitivity to people who struggle with their weight.
You know rural Americans are a special people. Their labor puts food on our table and fuel in our gas tanks. Their service in our military sets a powerful example of leadership honor and sacrifice. Their spirit of community inspires us all.
People come up to me all the time and say 'Oh I love to watch Food Network ' and I ask them what they cook and they say 'I don't really cook.' They're afraid they're intimidated they know all about food from eating out and watching TV but they don't know where to start in their own kitchen.
Just because the Americans are so good at rattling out accessible and cheap junk food nobody looks twice when it comes to their food. But there are golden nuggets everywhere.
Don't try to be the next Rachael Ray or Bobby Flay we already have those people. We want someone who is going to make their own mark on 'Food Network.'
I think people are more savvy about cooking food and dining. I notice they are looking for more value for their money - not in larger portions but more in terms of healthier fresh farm-to-table dishes with a nice presentation.
