I don't believe society understands what happens when everything is available knowable and recorded by everyone all the time.

Watching people just look out for themselves I think is extremely interesting. It goes right back to something like 'The Beggar's Opera' - the underbelly of society how it operates and how that reflects their so-called betters.

I think it's great that we have organisations like Greenpeace. In a pluralistic society we want to have people who point out all the problems that the Earth could encounter. But we need to understand that they are not presenting a full and rounded view.

I understand why society especially American society is gravitating toward fairy tales given our economy. We've been exploring the world of witches and wizards for years. We've been exploring the world of vampires for years. Clearly the public - I mean I feel like all of this was ushered in by 'Harry Potter' - in my own fannish beliefs.

All of us in society are supposed to believe that cruelty to animals is wrong and that it is a good thing to prevent needless suffering. So if that is true how can meat be acceptable under any but the most extraordinary circumstances such as perhaps roasting the bird who died flying into a window?

Even if one is interested only in one's own society which is one's prerogative one can understand that society much better by comparing it with others.

Society needs to condemn a little more and understand a little less.

Every genuine boy is a rebel and an anarch. If he were allowed to develop according to his own instincts his own inclinations society would undergo such a radical transformation as to make the adult revolutionary cower and cringe.

Boy's natural play is rough and tumble play it's the universal play of little boys. And it's very different from aggression. And we are a society that's failing to understand the distinction.

At the same we need to remain sensitive to the reality that we are still an African society in which the majority of the people and communities live under severe deprivations and afflictions that are no fault of theirs.
