When I grew up what was interesting for me was that music was color and life was gray. So music for me has always been more than entertainment.

I'm not suggesting people abandon musical instruments and start playing their cars and apartments but I do think the reign of music as a commodity made only by professionals might be winding down.

I've got a feeling that music might not be the most interesting place to be in the world of things.

Develop interest in life as you see it in people things literature music - the world is so rich simply throbbing with rich treasures beautiful souls and interesting people. Forget yourself.

What bugs me is that movies don't reflect how interesting and vibrant women are. We don't treasure women as they get older.

I'm intrigued by films that have a singular vision behind them. A lot of studio movies have ten writers by the time they're done. You have a movie testing 200 times making adjustments according to various people's opinions. It's difficult to have an undistilled vision.

I began to feel that the drama of the truth that is in the moment and in the past is richer and more interesting than the drama of Hollywood movies. So I began looking at documentary films.

All that running around in my underwear put money in my pockets. I can focus on working in interesting movies without having to worry about supporting myself.
