When I was growing up it was 'Communists'. Now it's 'Terrorists'. So you always have to have somebody to fight and be afraid of so the war machine can build more bombs guns and bullets and everything.

I can tell you this: If I'm ever in a position to call the shots I'm not going to rush to send somebody else's kids into a war.

Another term for preventive war is aggressive war - starting wars because someday somebody might do something to us. That is not part of the American tradition.

To me horror is when I see somebody lying. I mean a person I know. A friend. And he's telling me something that I accept. And then suddenly as he or she is telling it there's something that gives them away. They're not telling me the truth.

I preach there are all kinds of truth your truth and somebody else's. But behind all of them there is only one truth and that is that there's no truth.

It's the same old story you've heard a thousand times. Somebody's trust gets broken. Somebody's left behind.

I was telling somebody just the other day there's technically such a hierarchy in this business. You have film that's the ideal then you have TV and things like web series do not claim as much cred but the fact is if the material is solid and I believe and trust in the team that's involved I don't care what format it is.

Don't trust somebody that don't have a troubled period.

It's probably a bit of a power trip when you befriend somebody enough that they trust you to tell you things.

We've not had one Republican president in 34 years balance the budget. You can't trust right-wing Republicans with your money. You ought to hire somebody who has balanced a budget. I'm much more conservative with money than George Bush is.
