For a small child there is no division between playing and learning between the things he or she does just for fun and things that are educational. The child learns while living and any part of living that is enjoyable is also play.

Libraries allow children to ask questions about the world and find the answers. And the wonderful thing is that once a child learns to use a library the doors to learning are always open.

When man learns to understand and control his own behavior as well as he is learning to understand and control the behavior of crop plants and domestic animals he may be justified in believing that he has become civilized.

A man only learns in two ways one by reading and the other by association with smarter people.

Because in the school of the Spirit man learns wisdom through humility knowledge by forgetting how to speak by silence how to live by dying.

A smart man makes a mistake learns from it and never makes that mistake again. But a wise man finds a smart man and learns from him how to avoid the mistake altogether.

I certainly wasn't happy. Happiness has to do with reason and only reason earns it. What I was given was the thing you can't earn and can't keep and often don't even recognize at the time I mean joy.

He who learns but does not think is lost! He who thinks but does not learn is in great danger.

He who learns must suffer. And even in our sleep pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart and in our own despair against our will comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God.

He only earns his freedom and his life Who takes them every day by storm.
