Cruelty is a part of nature at least of human nature but it is the one thing that seems unnatural to us.

Cruelty is the law pervading all nature and society and we can't get out of it if we would.

I think that if people are instructed about anything it should be about the nature of cruelty. And about why people behave so cruelly to each other. And what kind of satisfactions they derive from it. And why there is always a cost and a price to be paid.

To insult someone we call him 'bestial. For deliberate cruelty and nature 'human' might be the greater insult.
