Cooking is always very romantic!

There are some forms of religion that are bad just as there's bad cooking or bad art or bad sex you have bad religion too.

Just about every children's book in my local bookstore has an animal for its hero. But then only a few feet away in the cookbook section just about every cookbook includes recipes for cooking animals. Is there a more illuminating illustration of our paradoxical relationship with the nonhuman world?

Patience was not something that came naturally to me but in cooking it is the quintessential skill.

So when I do Chinese cooking I mix everything together then the kids have to eat their vegetables. They won't have the patience to pick them out.

Ah the power of two. There's nothing quite like it. Especially when it comes to paying utility bills parenting cooking elaborate meals purchasing a grown-up bed jumping rope and lifting heavy machinery. The world favours pairs. Who wants to waste the wood building an ark for singletons?

The problem with growing up in a cafe was the cafe never closed my parents worked every day of the year from morning to night. So it was a big menagerie of kids business and cooking!

In order to have good fried chicken you should wash and season the bird the morning you're preparing it for dinner. Don't wait and do it right before you start cooking. Throw it in the refrigerator seasoned that morning and give it a chance to soak up all the salt and pepper and goodness.

It's about getting the kids up and fed getting one to school getting the other down for a nap going to the grocery store picking one up from school getting the other one down for another nap cooking dinner... I live my life at these two extremes. I'm either a full-time stay-at-home mom or a full-time actress.

I started cooking when I was about 10. I have memories like when I was 6 or 7 with my mom and when I was 12 I started getting real serious about cooking.
