I believe that in the end the abolition of war the maintenance of world peace the adjustment of international questions by pacific means will come through the force of public opinion which controls nations and peoples.

Assuming that man has a distinct spiritual nature a soul why should it be thought unnatural that under appropriate conditions of maladjustment his soul might die before his body does or that his soul might die without his knowing it?

A movie goes from several stages from idea to script. As you continue shooting you will make some adjustments. You're constantly adjusting. It's like a piece of music. You're constantly trying to make it better.

I'm intrigued by films that have a singular vision behind them. A lot of studio movies have ten writers by the time they're done. You have a movie testing 200 times making adjustments according to various people's opinions. It's difficult to have an undistilled vision.

My mom and I used to listen to records read and take train rides across the country in the summer. It was a very chill life. She didn't expose me to anything that was ahead of my development but she expected me to adjust to her world - she did not expect to adjust to mine.

My view is that marriage is a relationship between a man and a woman. That's the position I've had for some time and I don't intend to make any adjustments at this point... Or ever by the way.
