Happiness is understanding that friendship is more precious than mere things more precious than getting your own way more precious than being in situations where true principles are not at stake.

They have the ability to take a person's freedom from them. On certain situations they have the ability to take a person's reputation. And under certain circumstances they have the authority to take a person's life.

I am making amends and seeking forgiveness. My only hope is that some good can come out of my situation.

When I said a few weeks ago that our people would eat cooking oil and olives if necessary I didn't mean that there really would be only oil and olives. What I meant was that our people have the necessary patience to endure the current difficult situation. Palestinians would rather do without certain food items than their national rights.

Food is fuel and not a solution to anything other than giving your body nutrients. I love chocolate like the next girl but it's not going to change my situation.

Especially for me growing up in such a small town in the middle of nowhere the desire to be away was incredible. I wanted to see new lands meet new people from the city and meet people that were in much less fortunate situations than I was so that I could be more appreciative of my present. At least I had food on the table.

Even when a person has all of life's comforts - good food good shelter a companion - he or she can still become unhappy when encountering a tragic situation.

Finance is critical. If sufficient investment is made in infrastructure and venture capital is made available there will be a big improvement in the situation.

A fear of the unknown keeps a lot of people from leaving bad situations.

Writing is a form of therapy sometimes I wonder how all those who do not write compose or paint can manage to escape the madness melancholia the panic and fear which is inherent in a human situation.
