All works of art are commissioned in the sense that no artist can create one by a simple act of will but must wait until what he believes to be a good idea for a work comes to him.

Mission accomplished. The Museum of Modern Art's wide-open tall-ceilinged super-reinforced second floor was for all intents and purposes built to accommodate monumental installations and gigantic sculptures should the need arise. It has arisen.

Art is not a handicraft it is the transmission of feeling the artist has experienced.

I feel however that we architects have a special duty and mission... (to contribute) to the socio-cultural development of architecture and urban planning.

As a designer the mission with which we have been charged is simple: providing space at the right cost.

Presently the Commission for Commemorating 350 Years of American Jewish History has been brought about to encourage and sponsor a variety of historical activities that advance our understanding of the American Jewish experience as it marks this milestone anniversary.

As a planning board commissioner I have to review the applications for development throughout the city and the bulk of those applications have been for the waterfront. I think the progress the waterfront has made is amazing.

The environmental benefits of hydrogen are also outstanding. When used as an energy source hydrogen produces no emissions besides water. Zero polluting emissions an amazing advance over the current sources of energy that we use.

I'm not saying that there's anything better than mated bliss at its best but I'm saying that living alone is as good in its own way. But we haven't quite given ourselves permission to recognize that.

In an age when the fashion is to be in love with yourself confessing to be in love with somebody else is an admission of unfaithfulness to one's beloved.
