I finally decided one day reading science fiction magazines of the time I could do at least as well as some of these people are doing. So I finally made a serious effort.

Today over half of China's undergraduate degrees are in math science technology and engineering yet only 16 percent of America's undergraduates pursue these schools.

I'm mostly a novelist these days but I have written short stories in Fantasy Science Fiction and horror.

What's different here is that we have now technologies that allow these life science companies to bypass classical breeding. That's what makes it both powerful and exciting.

Growing up in the '70s and '80s science fiction and especially fantasy had such a stigma attached to them. I felt so punished and exiled for being devoted to these things.

What business has science and capitalism got bringing all these new inventions into the works before society has produced a generation educated up to using them!

True science is never speculative it employs hypotheses as suggesting points for inquiry but it never adopts the hypotheses as though they were demonstrated propositions.
