I'm a hopeless romantic. It's disgusting. It really is. I've seen 'While You Were Sleeping' like twenty times and I still believe in the whole Prince Charming thing.

The American is wholeheartedly for love and romance at any cost.

The reason it has relevance is because I as a popular Arab personality - the Arab people like me and respect me - thought it was time for me to make an ever so tiny statement about what I thought about this whole thing.

I would love to direct but I feel like directing is a whole separate craft and so I tend to respect it as a separate craft that I would need to study first. So right now I'm still trying to do certain things as an actor and until I get bored of that or I feel completely fed by that then I'll move into directing.

My father was an inspiration to me I made a few movies with him and I loved working with him. Everything about him - his whole approach to work as well as his love enthusiasm and respect for it and other people in the business - was inspiring. I was very lucky to have him as a role model.

I even believe if you're killing a team you shouldn't stop. You should respect your opponents enough to play 100 percent the whole time. And by the same token if you're getting killed by the other team you should never quit.

I don't wilt easily and a director can't either. He's the captain of the ship and he's got to be in total control. He also has to have respect for the people he's working for. From being an actor and being on a set my whole life I'm very comfortable there. And I'm not afraid.

It's taken folk a while to come around hasn't it? Even the boys in the band weren't too sure about the whole art thing. They just wanted me to concentrate on the music. But they respect it now.

I hope that tomorrow we can all wherever we are join in expressing our grief at Diana's loss and gratitude for her all-too-short life. It is a chance to show to the whole world the British nation united in grief and respect.
