Iran is not a make-believe country. It is a real country populated by some 75 million people - real people including I daresay a majority who are philosophically and by education inclined toward the modern secular world and particularly American values.
The American Dream is still alive out there and hard work will get you there. You don't necessarily need to have an Ivy League education or to have millions of dollars startup money. It can be done with an idea hard work and determination.
Unless we make education a priority an entire generation of Americans could miss out on the American dream.
The Recovery plan will put money in the pockets of the American worker create and save millions of new jobs and invest in crucial areas such as health care education energy independence and a new infrastructure.
Because if you don't have a great workforce a great higher education system you're not going to have the next eBay the next AmGen the next you know Miasole and not only California but America is going to fall behind a whole new competitive context which is obviously China India and other countries.
As a former recipient of these services I can honestly say that the overwhelming majority of TANF recipients are hard-working Americans who are down on their luck and just want an opportunity to better their lives and those of their family through work and access to education.
In fact I believe that we need better sex education in our own culture here in America so that young folk learn about things like venereal disease before they encounter it.
If we do not provide education for every single American we are consigning those without an education to second-class status.
We are currently working on new policies to protect and create American jobs particularly by improving education. We need more information in order to find the best solutions to this increasing concern for American families.
Education is a precondition to survival in America today.
